Happy Birthday Mr Yeats or may I call you Willie

Today we celebrate 150th anniversary of the birthday of Irish poet and dramatist, William Butler Yeats.

Although born in Dublin, his poetry and literature drew on the folklore and landscape of Sligo where his mother came from.  This year celebrations are in place in Sligo details at www.yeatsday.com

The following lines are from one of his plays,  Land of Heart's Desire, first performed in the spring of 1894, at the Avenue Theatre in London:

"Once a fly dancing in a beam of the sun,
Or the light wind blowing out of the dawn,
Could fill your heart with dreams none other knew"
