Slimmed down Lisa shares style secrets of her success

Irish Independent-6 Apr 2014

Uniquely crafted floral pieces

Artist Mairead de Blaca's new unique line of jewellery based on flowers and petals also has the power to spread a little happiness – because who wouldn't cheer up at the sight of such a dainty flower on a chain around their neck?

Mairead was born in Cork, and graduated from University College Cork with a degree in archaeology and history. Over the past 20 years, she has worked and lived as an artist in the US, the Middle East and Ireland, and travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, providing her with inspiration for her jewellery designs. The jewellery in The Flower Collection is handcrafted to Mairead's delicate designs by Dublin-based silver and goldsmiths.

Prices start at €45 for small drop flower earrings, up to €120 for a large flower pendant.

Meanwhile, Cork jewellery designer Mairead de Blaca launched her Flower collection on Wednesday night with a party at the Coppa Cafe in the RHA. Everyone from the legendary lensman John Minihan, to former Pogues guru Frank Murray turned up. Some even ended up in Residence after.
