Ring out the old Ring in the New - Happy New Year 2016

As midnight strikes on New Years Eve people all over the world sing some verses from the Scottish folksong Auld Lang Syne.   While the song was collected and made famous by Scotland's National Bard, Robert Burns, it was in fact sung long before he wrote about it.

The air of the original folksong is much slower and more melodious than the one we usually blast out on New Years Eve.   Here is one of my favourite versions by Paolo Nutin

There are several verses to the original song but the ones we all know best are:

"Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne."

As we join in chorus all over the world I would like to say Thank You to all my customers, stockists and friends for their support in 2015 and Wish You All Health, Happiness & Prosperity in 2016.

Go Raibh Mile Maith Agat.  Sláinte, Sonas agus Athbhliain Faoi Mhaise Duit.
