A Day in May when Ireland became a Nation of Equals

On 22nd May 2015 the people of Ireland voted in favour of marriage equality.  Ireland was the first country in the world to decide this by a vote of the people.

For months in advance of the Referendum the Yes Equality team (established by GLEN, Marriage Equality and ICCL) lead a campaign for civil marriage equality, engaging people across the nation in debates, discussion, awareness campaigns and canvassing.

To celebrate this historic landmark many couples gave each other tokens of love, and our Grá pendant was a popular choice.
